O2A works to benefit American Aquifers through cross promotion, mutual support and by generating donations to further our mutual mission of providing advocacy and assistance for those experiencing issues with clean water access.
O2A works with AmericanAquifers.org, a 501(c)3 nonprofit that focuses on groundwater issues and equal access. Their goal is to protect our aquifers and to educate, support, and advocate for sustainable groundwater use through community outreach, data collection, and scientific research. American Aquifers provides help and financial assistance to those struggling with groundwater issues, and they strive to be a resource for all those that depend on groundwater. Please visit www.AmericanAquifers.org to learn more about our shared mission and DONATE. All direct donations are submitted on the American Aquifers page and go directly to American Aquifers.

We believe it is imperative for like minded entities to work with and support each other. We believe that artistic expression is an incredible tool that encompasses all. Let's reach bigger goals by working together!
Steve started work on Dexter in February 2023 after receiving a large clean up donation from a Park Ranger who shares our concerns and has a similar mission. Big thanks to Park Ranger Ryan and to our friends who drove up the coast with their trailer to pick up the debris! We have held our own beach clean ups, collected plastics at dump sites, on roadways and received plastics via volunteer donation drives.
Special thanks to Jack for all of those bottle caps!.
We are so thankful to all who have helped us start this project and grateful to be working with some great people and their organizations.
Together we can make a real impact!
Dexter arrived at Pony Village Mall on May 12th 2023! His friend Sid the Salmon to follow soon!
O2A designs, builds and exhibits eye opening art that
demonstrates how plastics have permeated our oceans and water ways, and the
importance of ensuring equal access to clean, safe groundwater.

All art is created in house. We work with volunteers to collect the plastic, then O2A designs the piece, welds and fabricates the frame, sculpts and attaches the plastic and then provides educational information on the at risk creature and it's habitat or about the subject being depicted in the piece.
O2A educates through art, workshops, activity books, lessons and lectures. We also teach others how to build plastic art and start artistic and/or educational programs of their own.
O2A purchases metal for the frame, screws, wire mesh, stainless steel wire, spray paint and casters. We only paint the screws to match the plastic we are working with, we never paint the actual plastic. Steve sculpts each piece by fabricating a complex metal "skeleton", then he skins it with plastic or used tires, then sculpts the plastic debris around it. Plastic pieces within the sculpture are delicately stitched with wire or screwed into place. Our pieces are structurally sound, built to last and are of the highest artistic quality. We never use things like epoxy, styrofoam, plaster, or fiberglass nor do we purchase new plastic materials for usage on a sculpture. All plastic used on an O2A sculpture is a combination of plastic trash, marine debris and repurposed plastic.
Metal, Plastic, Rubber... that's it!
O2A takes every measure possible to package and ship with integrity. We ship in fitted wooden crates, with reusable straps and pads. No spray foam or plastic molds, no plastic wrapping or peanuts.
No plastic tarps or bins.
Your sculpture can be sent via freight as a more economical option and crates can be delivered by a truck with a liftgate, without the need for a forklift. Our packages are super manageable and only a pallet jack is needed!
O2A hopes to be a helpful partner, a mindful steward and a strong advocate. Help us bring awareness to the risks of plastic pollution and the need for clean, safe drinking water for all.
